NYC is a powerful youth event, hosted by the Church of the Nazarene, which has been held in different locations for six decades. Taking place every 4 years, NYC provides an opportunity for high school students from the USA and Canada to be united for worship, discipleship, community outreach, and tons of fun.
NYC 2023 will be held July 5-9, 2023 in Tampa Bay, Florida, USA.
NYC invites students to participate in plenary sessions with engaging speakers and creative artists, live concerts featuring top Christian recording artists, Ministry With Others service projects throughout Tampa Bay, interactive discipleship experiences, and a Recreation Hall filled with individual and group activities, games, and exhibits.
Main Sessions will be held in Amalie Arena and several others elements including the Rec Hall at the Tampa Bay Convention Center.
Students who have completed 8th grade through completed 12th grade at the time of the event are eligible to attend NYC.
Our policy is that all sponsors be at least 23 years of age at the time of the event. However, special circumstances (such as a young youth pastor on staff at a church) may be considered.
The total cost of NYC is determined by each District and will include the conference registration fee, travel expenses, lodging, meals, and any excursions being planned by the District. Contact your District NYI/NYC Leader for details.
Registration for NYC 2023 will be directly handled by each District. Districts will provide parents/guardians with access to the registration system in order to complete registration and all release forms.

All NYC program fee payments are non-refundable. However, in the event you are unable to attend, you may request for your sponsoring district to transfer your registration to a new, previously unregistered participant. Your sponsoring district will facilitate this process on your behalf. Transfers may be facilitated through May 15, 2023.
We recognize the significant costs of attending NYC and the various points of uncertainty associated. In order to enhance confidence toward registration and protect individuals, families, and district groups from financial losses due to unforeseen circumstances we have secured insurance coverage to mediate a wide variety of known risks and potential loss.
As a part of the NYC program fee all registered participants are covered by trip cancellation and interruption insurance due to verifiable triggers (such as medical related issues, travel restrictions, state/CDC advisory, family emergency). This provides, through an individual claims process after the event, opportunity to recoup non-refundable portions of event related expenses (including registration fees, travel and transportation costs, food and lodging expenses, and pre/post event excursions) if a transfer of fees and services to a new participant is not applicable.
Districts will coordinate travel to and from Tampa Bay and will be housed together in an event hotel.
Our goal is to be inclusive to all participants. If your student has any special need, please contact your District leader and provide as much detail as possible during registration.

The process for volunteer selection will be communicated Spring 2022. Those interested in volunteering should watch www.nazareneyouthconference.com for more information. We anticipate utilizing 200+ adult volunteers who will be selected and coordinated by our NYC Volunteer Coordinator. In addition, we anticipate a large team of college age (NYC alumni students) who will be selected by each of our nine education Fields for volunteer service.
Each district is responsible for the selection and preparation of all district adult sponsors they bring to the event who must be 23 years of age or older at the time of the event unless an exception has been authorized by USA/Canada NYI office. Every adult attending NYC 2023 must complete two requirements prior to NYC 2023: Nazarene Safe training and a qualifying background check that utilizes local, state, and national registries.
Event registration is required to participate in any portion of NYC 2023. No individual without a name badge (provided to registered student/adult participants, staff, exhibitors, and volunteers), regardless of position or circumstance, will be allowed into the NYC areas of the event venues.
No child, regardless of age or relationship, will be allowed in the NYC areas of the event venues without prior authorization. This policy is important for liability/security reasons but also prioritizes our high school student participants throughout the event. We understand the sacrifice this policy calls for and thank our leaders for making the commitment to prioritize student participants at NYC 2023.
